Introducing... Baby McGhee!
We went for our first Ultrasound today, Monday, July 26th. It went very well! We got to see our beautiful little peanut, which I know just looks like a blob to most of you, but it's the sweetest little blob we have ever seen! We also got to see the heartbeat! (Sigh of relief for this mommy- to- be who's already worried about everything!) The thing that surprised me the most was that the "goo" that they put on your belly was actually warmed up, and not cold like they show in all the movies. haha!
Unfortunately, we didn't hear the heartbeat, but the Ultrasound Tech said no worries, we'd hear it at our next ultrasound on August 23rd (12 week ultrasound). I absolutely cannot wait to hear Baby McGhee's heartbeat! I have gained 2 lbs since the last appointment, which is good (read, healthy). The doctor says a good amount of weight for me to gain is 25-35 lbs. The Doctor answered some more of our questions and then told us that our baby looks just fine, is measuring 8.5 weeks (just as we thought it was) and the Due Date will stay at March 4th!
At this point we have told all of our immediate family, but are still waiting until 12 weeks to share the news with friends and extended family, so by the time anyone reads this or the previous post, we will be 12 weeks! Wow, that's hard to believe. Please keep us in your prayers that mommy and baby both stay very healthy during the next 7 months!
